More than 70 staff members participated in the run with Lt. j.g. Jeffrey Vorwald from the Industrial Hygiene Department, finishing first for the second year in a row with a time of 17 minutes, 40 seconds.
The others winners were HN Christian Dingethal from Mental Health, 2nd place male; LCDR Robert Krejci from Ambulatory Procedure Unit, 3rd Place Male; LT Hannah Castillo from Ambulatory Procedure Unit, 1st Place Female; HM3 Ashley McMurray from Human Resources, 2nd Place Female; LS2 Christina Baracosa from Material Management, 3rd Place Female and Dr. Christina McGahan from Occupational Medicine was the Most Motivated Runner.
“Prior to the 5K run, dedicated to enhance awareness of National Disabilities Employment Month, NHCP members reflected on the strength gained through the diversity of the addition of workers with disabilities to the workforce team,” said Capt. Kenneth Iverson, the hospital’s commanding officer. “They also paused to consider with appreciation the ability to participate in such a run around our own Lake O'Neill.”
