The Ambulatory Procedures Unit (APU) is comprised of two areas: Preoperative Teaching and the Same Day Surgery Unit (SDS). Staff rotate through the APU and the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). The APU provides services to SDS and Same Day Admission (SDA) patients pre- and post-operatively. All SDS and SDA patients should process through the preoperative teaching area at least two days prior to surgery to ensure laboratory results, EKG readings, and administrative requirements are completed thereby decreasing waiting time on the day of surgery.

This department provides diagnosis and treatment services for diseases of the skin. The clinic is open to active duty members, retired personnel, and their families. All clinics are by appointment only. There is no walk-in service. Referrals from Primary Care providers are required for an appointment at the clinic.

The mission of the IG Hotline is to provide a method to receive and investigate allegations of significant fraud, waste, abuse and/or mismanagement. Military and civilian personnel are required to report suspected wrong doing to their chain of command. This is the preferred mechanism because it reinforces the primacy of the chain of command and allows problems to be addressed at the lowest level. The IG Hotline provides an alternative to the chain of command when a complainant reasonably fears reprisal or believes that the chain of command has been unresponsive.

The General Surgery Clinic provides a wide spectrum of care to active duty, dependents (adults, children age 5 years and up,)and retirees. Myriad operative procedures are performed from the relatively minor skin mole excisions to advanced laparoscopic gastro-intestinal and colonic procedures.
